M-theory
Active researchWhat the term means here
An eleven-dimensional framework proposed to unify the five consistent ten-dimensional superstring theories, which appear as limits of it. The source map treats the subject as "string/M-theory" throughout rather than separating them.
Why it matters to this question
The de Sitter question is posed for the whole framework, not one string theory. A construction that fails in one duality frame may be argued to survive in another, which is part of why the debate is hard to close.
What this does not establish
M-theory has no complete non-perturbative definition and no experimental confirmation. Naming it does not add evidence to any claim on this map.
