AdS/MERA correspondence (conjecture)
The proposal that the layered geometry of a MERA network is a discretization of a holographic bulk spacetime, with the extra network direction playing the role of a radial bulk coordinate.
Why it matters
It motivated a decade of work connecting tensor networks, entanglement, and quantum gravity, and gave the field a geometric vocabulary.
What this does not establish
It is an analogy argued structurally, not a derivation. Published work states consistency conditions such a correspondence would need to satisfy and argues they are in tension. Nothing in the practical use of MERA or MPS as numerical methods depends on it being true.

The paper that proposed reading the MERA network as a discretized holographic geometry. It is the origin of the AdS/MERA conjecture, not a proof of it.

Consistency Conditions for an AdS/MERA Correspondence

States conditions an AdS/MERA correspondence would have to satisfy and argues they are in tension. It is why tn-005 is labelled a conjecture rather than a result.
